TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF KAYUNGA HOSPITAL
Kayunga hospital has been temporarly closed to pave way for the massive rehabilitation and expansion of the hospital. Kayunga hospital is a district hospital that is being expanded and rehabilitated by the Arab Contractors since last Financial Year 2018/ 2019.
The District Chairperson Mr Serwanga Tom has said MKayunga Hospital will be fully be closed down and services that were still being offered from the remaining units that had not yet been handed over to the contractor have been relocated to other Kangulumira Health centre IV and Ntenjeru Health centre III to pave way for the general rehabilitation of the district hospital.
He said that the hospital has been closed down totally, to enable the contractors to complete the planned works within a a 6 months period and hand it over to the beneficiaries before the end of this Financial Year- 2019/20.
"We have relocated services to other health units so that we ensure that the contractor finalizes with the rehabilitation and expanssion of Kayunga district hospital preferably towards the end of this financial year. Currently we are ensuring that Kangulumira Health Centre IV in Kangulumira sub county handles some of the major cases," he said.

The Resident District Commisioner, Ms Margret Mwanamoiza Kikomeko requested the community to be patient for a while till all the works on this projecr are completed, which she said that they hope that all works will be completed by June 2020.
