SAGE program ongoing in Kayunga District.

Kayunga District older persons received 425,850,000 Million Shillings under the Social Assistance Grants Empowerment (SAGE) program.

SAGE is a social protection program implemented by the Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Gender, labor and Social development.

This program commenced on 5th and will run till 8th August 2024 and will benefit 2839 older persons.

Each member receives 25,000 per month and each will receive 150,000 Shillings for 6 months (January to June).

 During payments, verification, registration and enrollment of New entrants is also done.

Mr. Collins the SAGE focal person highlighted challenges of alternative recepients who misuse beneficiaries funds, low reporting rates of deaths and some National identity cards portray wrong dates of birth compared to the beneficiaries.
